Samui Summer Jazz

The beautiful Island of Samui has a long history in presenting international jazz musicians from all over the world. It started in 2008 with a concert series bulding up to the first big eleven days festival in 2010 presenting a international line-up from all over the world. Also that year there was a large musical delegation from the Netherlands including Jeroen van Vliet, Mete Erker, Phaedra Kwant, Roos, Renske Taminiau, Eline, Rolf Delfos, Susanne Alt and Alexander Beets. This initiative came from Buma Cultuur and JazzNL to connect the Thai and Dutch Jazz scene.

Thai-Dutch Jazz Connection

Samui Jazz Week 2023

There has been a special Thai-Dutch Jazz connection for quite some time (since 2008). In which Dutch musicians, festivals and culture experts learn from Thai musicians, festivals and vice versa. Jazz expeditions are being organized and we are looking at how we can raise the infrastructure to a higher level. During these expeditions music is made together, new music is composed, there are workshops and master classes. Knowledge is also exchanged regarding to festivals, marketing, production, etc. A special connection in which beautiful memories are made.
